Not-for profit organisation, Parity Trust, have provided over £1.5million to home owners who have needed financial assistance to repair and modify their homes since the Home Trust Loan scheme began in 2005.
Working in partnership with 16 local authorities across the south coast, the Home Trust Loan provides home owners with low interest, fixed rate loans that enable them to carry out essential repairs and adaptations to their properties. The scheme began by offering assistance within Portsmouth, Gosport, Eastleigh, Chichester and Brighton & Hove areas and now covers most of Hampshire, Surrey and Sussex.
The loans have been used to repair boilers, fix roofs, fit double glazing and install solar panels. They have also been used by landlords to convert buildings ready for private and social housing.
Chief Executive of Parity Trust, Simon Frost has said "As the Home Trust Loan is a
safe and inexpensive source of finance we are seeing a steady increase in lending by our Home Trust Loan service". He went on to say that Parity Trust's clients are increasingly recognising the value that the company offers, which includes a service tailored their needs and with rates at around 5.5%, which is great value in the current market.
"No doubt 2012 will provide further challenges to consumers given the current difficult economic climate, but at Parity Trust, we are committed to delivering financial assistance to those who need it most" said Simon, who added that thanks to the financial review which is carried out after the initial enquiry and the tailored repayment options available on the Home Trust Loan, there have been no missed payments by any clients.
